Since I applied a Microsoft update in the last month, I've noticed that the animated graphics such as Avitars and Smilies are no longer animated. The Flash Petz are fine though. I suspect that the problem is an IE security setting as I had this problem once before months ago but was able to fix it then. Although for the life of me, I can't find the problem this time.

Any MS Gurus with any suggestions?

Check your firewall/virus settings.
If using zonealarm, look under Privacy-ad blocking. Click custom and the ad blocking tab and uncheck animation.

have you tried system restore to a date before the update

Hey, you're not just another pretty face. That's got it! Somehow my Zonealarm is now doing auto updates and re-adjusting the privacy settings by itself. Usually it works so well that I just leave it alone.
Smilies aren't Smilies unless they dance.
