Default Lord of the Rings Pichinko (thoughts and best place to buy one)

Thoughts on Lord of the Rings Pichinko machine? Also, anyone selling one. Would prefer within a state of Wi/IL area. Never played it, but looks good and a big LOTR fan. Would like one to go with my LOTR pinball machine Ebay seems to have them all day long for $225. Seems kinda high for Pichinko thou. :/

Well quite frankly I think we luck out big time on these pachinko machines. You'd have to ask the experts here but my guess is a machine like LOTR probably costs the casinos over 3,000 per machine. If you look at the technology packed into these things it is really amazing... Not to mention stereo sound high def lcd etc etc....

Arby or any of you GURU's, what does it cost the casino to buy a brand spanking new Star Wars for example?

As for the LOTR pachinko.... I have it and LOVE it... if you're a LOTR fan than this should definately be a part of your collection. If you grade it solely on fun as a pachinko machine I'd say a 6 or 7 would be a reasonable score. If you base your opinion on the theme and beauty of this machine... I'd give it a 10... The ring in this machine looks 3d... like its jumping out of the machine... truly beautiful. I do think there are machines out there that are more fun... but as far as theme goes hard to go wrong here.... I'd also guess that this machine like other popular themed machines will hold their value as a collectors item.

and you all missed the most important part!!! the best place to by a pachinko in th US has got to be Arby Coffee he has to be one of if not the most meticlas of vendors when it comes to cleaning and packaging to make sure your new pride and joy reaches you in one peace the guy even looses money on the pacaging you only got to look for a thread here that mentions arbys packaging and the pictures members post the boxes yes i said boxes that he sends a machine out in are only one stage of armor plated his only recorded death in transit is when the dumb delivery guy managed to run over the box !!!!!

are his prices resonable? I'm a pinball collector so i'm new to the pachinko market, this would be my first one. Pinball is the same way. New they were 3200 or so, used they are 1000 or less or more depending on title. Rarity and popularity determine price. But playablility on a pinball machine is more important than a pachinko which is random luck.

Random luck AAAAAAAArrrrrrrrr you are new to pachinko there is a skill to finding whats known as the sweet spot on a machine and if you can get it just right you can shovel balls in the start pocket/claw all day long (i am yet to master this) as for arby coffee looking at the rest of the US market he is not the cheapest and he will admit this (although you can snipe an arby bargin on ebay) but for litraly the few extra dollars you pay you seem to some how get a hole lot more machine and definatly garenteed to reach in one peace unles you live in the middle of tha bosnian war and even then it stands a chance like i said just have a quick serch through some of the reasent ones were on a spider man pachinko and a thunderzone but if you want an idea pm him he is a modorator here but a very modist man as you can see he has responded to this thread but never tryed to sell to you or mentioned himself to buy from

Well by the above statement, You obviously have never played Pachinko. These are totally different types of games. The only thing connecting them it that a metal ball is shot onto the playfield. Comparing them is like comparing a 12 pound sledge hammer to a diamond cutter's hammer (you figure which is which).

Playing Pachinko takes more skill than pinball. One has to place the ball in the right spot at the right speed so it falls where one wants it to. All this without the aid of flippers and other devices, so you can retry your mistakes over and over again.

Pachinko predates pinball, the nail patterns are a science unto themselves, that date back over half a century. You will get much more action and a much better light show, in a much smaller package.

Think of a Pachinko machine as a light Sabre - By mastering the force a true Jedi can make the little balls go where he wants.

A Pinball machine is more clumsy like a blaster.....

And you can fit two or three pachinkos in the space of one Pinball machine

It's not the size that counts. At least that is what I have heard.

LOL, all your posts are quite amusing. but I must stand up for my pinball community. Pinball is a game of intense skill. very hard to master. If it was easy, there would be more people scoring the 10k grand prize at the world championships. If pichinko was truely based on skill, I don't think it would be a casino game. I figured it was setup a lot like a slot or pachislo machine. I have played one a long time ago, but I didn't think you could control how hard the ball was shot. From what I remember, you turn the dial thing...it activates a switch, and fires the ball from a coil. Then it bounces around the pins and goes wherever it may. I looked at 2 old pachinko machines today, when i went to pick up a pinball machine. I was thinking to myself, Seems pretty easy to "cheat". The face was thin plastic. Someone could easily take a magnet and move the ball whereever they wanted. Couldn't they? Or arn't these gambling machines?

As I stated before, I am very new to Slots/pachinko, so i'm treding on new territory here. but you guys are amusing nevertheless.

ahhh cheating would be easy if there wernt so many cameras and atendents in the pachinko parlour and also reports say that alot of parlours are mobrelated so theres always the worry of if you are cought cheating then you wake up with a horses head

and the gambling aspect is the reels that are on the screen in the middle but the ball controle is all skill
well thats what the wife says anyway

I just got the LOTR Pachinko. I'm looking forward to getting a Star Wars one, but decided I would get the LOTR one in the meantime. I Play it everyday (had it for a week now) and Love it. I got mine through www.pachislo.com. They don't supply a key, and that is fine with me, it's not necessary to play. They also put some nice volume POTS on the speakers and that is a must have. Without extra volume control, make sure you have plenty of aspirin.
I am currently building a wall cabinet for the machine which should help the noise of the balls dropping.

In the parlors the window is real Glass and double pane about 1/2 space between.
Amercian Pinball is cute, but doesn't have the complications factors of the nails be set different daily as in the parlors. You can shoot the balls at different speeds and at different spacings.

I placed three 2" holes on the side of the cabinet to access the front glass panel release and the two door releases. It works great. I put the machine in the cabinet and had no problem.

OK, there's fightin' words in there only I'd never be able to choose which side to stand up for. Having played pinball for about 50 of my 58 years, and pachinko for only the last 6 months, I can only say that to be good at either requires skill. As Lddrizzt says, the games are so different that comparisons are next to impossible. As for which requires more skill, I'll have to reserve judgement until I become more accomplished at pachinko. I hope to learn quite a bit about pachinko game play and strategy when rupan makes his much anticipated drive up here and gives me a few tips.
