    It's the dinkies theory I came up with in the 80's.

    Based on DINKS. Double Income No Kids.

    Now take what you would have paid for a child or two if you had them. Every month put that money in the bank. Factor in everything, food, diapers, daycare and then dancing or swinning lessons and so on. You get the picture. Set a date for it's or their birthdays and factor that in.

    By the time you're ready to retire, you'll easily have an additional 300,000 to work with.

    The downside is, you never really know how they're going to turn out. Regardless of how well you raise them. It's a big crap shoot. History is filled with parents who on second considertion would have or should have opted for the cash.
