Default Newbie needs help with Star Wars

    Greetings,
I'm new to the world of Pachinko, and after being outbid on the CR Fireworks last week (darn it!) decided to jump right in and purchase Popeye and Star Wars machines on eBay.

Popeye machine arrived last week via FedEx ground + works fine...super fun!

Star Wars just arrived last night via...gulp...UPS and it got a little chewed up in transit(they tried to kill it). There is a component that's in the lower left on the back had broken off by the mount, but after plugging back in-seems to be OK. I think everything is working but was wondering if there anything that's problematic on this machine I should check for damage? I think (hope) I got lucky with this. One problem is when I put balls into top tray - they shoot right through to the bottom. I remember seeing a thread that talks about this but now can't find. I'm not sure if it's broke or if there's a way to fix this.

Also, is it OK to leave these machines on for log periods of time (4-12 hrs) without worry of damage?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm afraid I have become totally obsessed with these machines. They are so cool. I can't sleep (neither can my neighbors).

Any help would be appreciated - Thank you.

if they drop out to the front tray the machine is just catching up with the payouts, keep feeding the top rear hopper and it will catch up.

If they are falling straight thru the back you have to flip your dump lever the other way.

These machines are on at the palour 24/7 so your safe with leaving them on for long times.

    Another Newbie Question...

Everything works great on my Star wars Pachinko. I even got the light scratches on the case out with my novis polish I use on my Trooper Armor. I love it.

My question is...On the left side of the play field in the center of 3PO's belly is a silver drop theough for the ball. It looks like there is a metal connection in there. Should the ball activate anything when going through?

Also, If a bulb on the play field goes out, do you replace it by unhooking all the components off the back or do you remove the areas on the front?

    Thanks All

P.S. I found some 1K pots at the local electronic store (not Radio Shack) and they work great. made by NTE electronics. $2.15 for set of two.

    1. No it does not activate anything.

    2. You'll have to go at it from behind.

Outside of a fever round, have you seen those flippers open?

    Mr Gneiss,
You hit the nail on the head. I tested it this morning. The first ball to pass through will cause the x and o to flash, every ball after that will light one of the small red squares (4 of them) next to it. Even though the flippers will not open during normal play, a ball must pass through this during fever play to activate the flippers.

My LOTR Pachinko has the same lights (little rings), however they will activate the flippers during normal play.

I'm pretty sure I have seen the same, although it happens only for a split second-it does open, I'm just not sure of the circumstances (but it was not during fever).

I believe it's the same on nearly all the Pachinko machines: The stored flipper openings will cause the Start pocket flipper to snap open and shut very quickly when in non-fever mode, but when in bonus or fever mode, the flipper opens up for a second or two each time.

I've never seen my flipper open yet during normal play, I've ony had it a day, I will stare at it very hard tonight, maybe use the force.

P.S. I saw someone use a smiley with a stormtrooper on it, Where is that? It was cool!
