A probe droid has detected an unusual signal coming from my house...OH MY GOD IT"S HERE! I got my Star wars Pachinko arrived today! I played with it for as much as I could stand the noise, Then I put in some 1K pots. Much Better. This is so cool of a game.
This weekend I will be building a case for it (identicle to my LOTR that I listed earlier) and I will put up a journal with instructions and photos.

Just an FYI For anyone curious:

I recieved my Star Wars Pachinko from Slot-Pachinko.com. There packing was great! The machine arrived undamaged. I have enough foam now to start my own Muppet company. Cheers to Slot-pachinko!

Solving the mystery on the Flippers in Star Wars:

OK, after playing for about two hours last night, the flippers did not open during normal play. From what I gathered tonight, this is my theory.

To help with this, I will use my LOTR as an example.

Both machines have four lights that light op (square on SW and rings on LOTR)...They also have alternting X and O. On the LOTR machine, this is the sequence...

First ball goes through sensor and X & O begin to blink back and forth. Second ball goes through and lights up a ring..and so on until four rings are lit. The X & O will stop on the O and the flippers will activate for 1-2 seconds...one ring disappears. This continues until you are out of lit rings...about once every 30 seconds.

The SW machine is the same... X&O, Four sqares lit...EXCEPT...

When the X&O stop flashing, it doesn't freeze on the O and activate the Flippers...it always stops on the X, the aquare goes off, and nothing happens with the flippers.

This is my theory, and remember, it is only my theory:

I have on the back of my SW Pachinko a serial port the has a connector on it. The connector hast three diodes soldered to it in certain places. when removed, the machine will still work, but will not let the firing ring make connection, therefore unable to launch any balls. Could this be the problem?

    Or,

On the bottom back of the machine is a single digit diode. mine always says - If I remove the Serial connector, it says 8. could this be an odds setting for the parlors? if the flippers don't ever open during normal play, then it is harder to earn balls(yet not much harder)...It's just a thought.

I shall continue my struggle to learn why the flippers don't open during normal play.

the connector on the back is your dongle, it replaces the palour connection.

I've had a Star Wars Pachinko for several months now and I've never *ever* seen the flippers open during normal play. As far as I am aware, not having anything to compare it by, they are only meant to open during bonus rounds.

It could be down to which version you've got. How do we find that out and I'll look to find which one I've got?

Well it looks like I have a ZF.

Out of 9, on 4 of my pachinkos you can bank flipper openings, and SW is the only one that doesn't open the flippers during normal play, on the other 3, once the flashing lights stop, the flippers open.

So everyone check which model you have (ZF, ST, RN1) and your flipper status! This is fascinating!

I will check mine too. One interesting note, When I had the play door open and I was passing a ball through the flipper bank sensor, The flippers actually opened for a split second. This happend twice and only while I had the door open and was banking the Flipper. odd.

Mine's a ZF too - though I have seen the flippers open. Strange....As Arby says, it is extremely quick when it does happen and it doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes.

Why would the flippers work during normal play on some and not on others?
