Reverse Engineering Time

Ok i have serched the forums and come up with the answer to popey and my poor thunderbirds was pulled out and once again met the fait of Dr Frankinsines soldering iron (im thinking of changing my user name) but im having problems doing the same to CR Fireworks as its a hole new ball game

What i want to do is like i did on thundirbirds take out the credit display and buttons and revirse enginear the bord so that when i have finished one of the unused buttons when pressed issues 10 balls through the payout motor so i can case the machine and not have to open up for balls

i have got the bord out and managed to get a pinout so i can hook up one of the buttons to a pay 10 balls pocket the problem iv got is because the monitor is the playing field the pokets are hooked into the rom with a ribbon cable that i dont like splitting so is there any other way of getting the payout motor to cycle to pay out balls from a push button

and dont give me the obviouse answer of get a ball in the payout pocket please

What about wrapping 2 wires around the pins you need to activate the payout and then putting the ribbon connector down over the top of the wires you wrapped around the pins. May be a little high on one side but it should work.
Used to do that when we were testing EPROMS

hmm may be worth a try as a last resort but i was hoping someone had got as far as the timing on the payout motor mine has a solinoid instead of a payout motor so i can open and shut the solinoid with 12v as i have metered it but i wanted a way of counting balls that i start with other than by hand

I havn't messed with any of this but I do believe they sell something on Yahoo Japan auctions that hooks up to Pachinko's for ball payouts. It has 2 buttons and hooks up somewhere inside the Pachinko. So what you are trying to do is possible I just don't know how.

i did get it to work on thunderbirds but the set up is a little diferent in CR fireworks to allow for the thikness and the size of the screen

Thanks for getting me on the right track, I thought they were for payouts, but they are for autoplay

what machine are you looking to do it to as i got it working on one it is just fire works is so diferent inside its unbelivable

Both machines, I have an older Heiwa not sure the year but its a Disco Queen

and the CR Rocky the Movie by Toyotec

Rocky should be easy as the pokets are linked to the main rom indavidualy take a look at the thread arby left it will explain alot and in the mean time i will reverse my thunderbirds and photograph it for you the cables will be in diferent places but you will get the genral idea from the pics and listing i post then you will have an idea between mine and logic probes you may find the disc queen that you have to add a button as i havent seen one but dont think it has the credit reader controls
