Sorry to hear about your machine Tulsa. Hopefully they will take care of it for you. If I remember right, I paid $179 plus shipping for mine. So that was a nice price.

Also...One of the things I remember about mine was that the parlor never removed the provective plastic from the top area. It looks like yours is still on to.

It appears to just be the outside glass but I've not opened it yet to make that determination.

They can call-tag it before I'll pay money to fix it. I'm not that "hot" to have it to start with. It was just a really good price and I'm a cheap ********..

There was some newbie at the end, trying to find where the high bid was. He drove it from $51 to $80, slowly. I put in a snipe bid @ $86.5 and took it for $81.

It is/was simply going to be a Christmas present for my two neices that I could play until next Christmas.

i had a machine turn up like that and in a minty box the only thing i could think of was the balls that were floating around must have shattered the glass

The balls aren't big enough and would not have the ability to build up enough inertia with all those pillows to hit that glass hard enough to do this.

My guess is that the box was thrown/dropped on its large side, glass down, and the shrinkwrapped balls/tray/feet bundle was wedged between the glass and the peanut bags (lately these have been loose around the peanut bags in the box). It's no fun to be dealing with glass shards; I'm lucky that the only glass I've received in shard condition was on a vintage bought on the 'bay.

Sorry to hear about your new machine Tulsa. It's not a nice feeling opening a box nervously and then finding that.

The driver set mine inside my door and was complaining that it had to weight over 50 pounds and he drives their lighter weight package truck.

I opened the box to show him what it was and the first thing I did was check to see if the glass was ok.

maybe the heavy package of balls and wood feet moved around and hit the glass in shipping,

My bag of balls was right on top of the ball feed tray after I removed the bags of peanuts.

My bag of balls was in the bottom of the box but it would have had to travel a ways through many pillows and cardboard to get there. They had the bottom of the box with pillows and a piece of cardboard on top of that but under that cardboard was the ball bag and on top of that card board was the machine. Kind of like a flase bottom.

It sounds like the Fedex demons got too rough with your machine somewhere along the line.

Mine had to travel 3,000 miles, yours didn't.

Well, that rules out the "bundle theory". It's a shame since your machine looks great (other than the million glass shards). It looks like it was just dropped on the large side (or stacked) and the pressure fell on the glass; the SlotUSA boxes, while sturdy, would transfer load to the center (i.e. the glass) since they don't have the Arby perimeter reinforcement (much less the Arby bubble wrap procedure). I'm certainly nearer to them than you so my boxes haven't gone through this testing, which may explain my fairly good luck (so far). Bummer.

I agree my first inclination is something happend in shipping, here are all four sides of the box, you decide.

the two handle sides looks pretty scuffed up, the third picture even has the hand hold damaged.
it may have been dropped near the top on that side.

That's not hand hold damage, it's where the hold itself didn't fold completly across evenly. It's fine.

I would use this box to ship a pachislo in a heartbeat.

If you look close, I think that you can see your box laying beside the FedEx Plane.....
