SChaos Custom Case!
Finally, I was satisfied enough to share my case design with all of you. A special thanks has to go out to many of you who were kind enough to SHARE your ideas online which inspired me and led to this cabinet design.
HUGE thanks goes out to my CASE mentor MR Gneiss... This is really his design and he was a huge help to me... Thanks man! You know you are going to want to finish all of yours now!
I also had a ton of help from my good buddy Dennis who helped me build the thing in his garage.... Further, Dennis and I came up with some innovative ideas for the plumbing system which worked fantastically.... not bad for a first try.
I will admit the rounded edges and obsession with making this thing look professional was all done by hand by me on my deck with sandpaper and wood files and a lot of hard workso you can say this one has my heart in it and I hope it shows at least a little from the video. (it does not do it justice you should see the luster of this paint job on the cabinet... )
Let me not forget to mention another here who I can't recall his name right now... he came up with the SEE through BALL funnel and I kinda stole his idea by adding a peep hole on my case using a hole saw and pexiglass...
Last but not least... its NOT finished... I plan to paint CELTIC IVY using a stencil on the cabinet so it will run across the top and down the sides.. but after all that work im taking a break and will add that later ... it will make this cabinet a work of art...
SO heres the scoop:
1: top V Funnel (mr gneiss) system holds about 4000 balls easy!
2. The drain.... I used a rubber drain I found at Homedepot rather than PVC... but you could easily use PVC as well but use 2" or larger or balls will get stuck.
3. the BALL return is just a lego version of PVC tubing... one right under the ball exit then in bends and tosses the balls perfectly into my basket below. (its sorta a crooked U) No need to ever touch those balls and get them rusty.
4. Paint: Its SPRAY paint... Hammered Metalic Green Rustolium! 4 cans of it to be exact...
5. NOTE this is not a wall mount design but could be easily modified for that purpose. I place it on top of the nightstand I bought from TARGET that I paid about 30 bucks for...
Please share your thoughts, the good the bad and the ugly on the cabinet...as I would love to hear from so many of you that have become good friends of mine here on pachitalk...
