$1 Pachislos???????

I have been seeing on ebay pachislos starting for 0.1cents are they really saying that if a dollar was the only bid the machine would be sold for that plus S+H? Have Machines really been won for $20-40 dollars? Maybe Im just an idiot that doesnt understand ebay workings. Can somebody please fill me in?

is there is an auction listed for .01 and no reserve set, and you bid 1 cent and no one else does than its yours for 1 cent plus shipping. Of course the seller could refuse to sell it but they would not be on eBay very long. Most sellers know that a item will sell for more than 1 cent though. Starting an auction very low is a good way to get people bidding on it and can make the item fetch a higher price than if it started higher. As for $20-40 dollar pachis, I don't know, I have seem some for around $49.

correct. some vendors will list prices that low so they don't have to pay as much for a listing fee, plus it intices people, "hey a penny for a pachi. heck yeah I'll bid on it." then before you know it there is a bidding war going on.

If there is no "reserve" on the item yes. under ebay rules they would have to give it to you for that price. but what some will do is say, "oh we no longer have that one in stock, what about this one...." or they will just refund your money and be done with it. I have seen pachislo machines go for 20-30 dollars but they were the ones that are in the pre 2000 or there is next to nothing as far as tokens go. they still get decent money. no matter how cheap. figure they get at least $20+ off your shipping cause they get a huge discount through ups or fedex. most of them have a shippers trailer at dockside and just fill it up. thats partly why some smaller vendors will say "please allow 2-3days for shipping." they want to get as many machines in there as possible... just my 2 tokens worth.

By starting at a silly low price,the seller will get a lot of interest and hopes to start a bidding war, It also gets people to look at the other items that he is selling most likley on "buy it now",I use this trick all the time, you know that it will always fetch a reasonable price but you can put it down as a loss leader if it goes too cheap.You could get a bargain but then again you may end up paying more than you intended .

I list almost all my video games and items i know will sell for 99 cent starting bid, if i list 10 items and one sells for 99 cents i still average out ahead with all the other items sold.

I started all of my auctions at a penny except for the last one because I only listed it for one day. The penny auctions only hurt me once when I had to sell a super blackjack for $160.00, all the others went real well.
