    Smile Goodwill Rocks!!!

I stopped at Goodwill today just as the girl was putting out 3 bags full of hot wheels and matchbox cars.

I took a quick look and saw some red line cars, I bought the 3 bags for 4.99 each

34 red line hot wheels , over 40 older Lesney Matchbox and about 80 cars from the 70's and 80's

I can just see the poor guy asking his mom one day "where are my old hot wheels" and mom saying I gave them to Goodwill

My mom is always asking where my cars went. I always remind her she gave them away.

My baseball card collection and my autographed glove by Pete Rose died that same death.

Yep, me too. When I went into the Coast Guard, my grandmother, who was living with us, dumped all my comics from the mid 50s to early 60s. Three bureau drawers of them. Fortunately, she didn't find my baseball cards.

Yeah, But wasn't it fun putting those baseball cards in your bicycle spokes with the clothes pin back in the 60's. I wonder how many Nolan Ryan rookies ended up that way.

Yep! My mother trashed all my comics books (hundred,s of them)
and my hot wheels and matchbox, dinkie cars when I was at summer camp!
Early 1930s to the late 60s for the comics. 1940s to the 70s for the cars.
Said I was too old to be playing with toy car,s and read comics books.
Well today the old cars she tosed out are worth hundreds of $$$$
and comic books are worth thousands!
    Thank's mom

Over the years we have donated a great deal to Goodwill. Maybe we could of made a lot of money on the stuff. But it was just better for us to donate it and take the tax credit. It makes me feel good to see a retired person make some money off of these donations. I hope at least some of the stuff I have donated ends up the same way.

gee, all we have here is over priced good for nothing junk. and I mean junk. Wife likes to check out those kind of stores. They had a kodak digital camera that was a 1megapixel with no lcd screen, no card for "only $75" Had a couch that was stained to high heavens with 7 cig burns and a 2-3in rip in the cushion for $100. I got a 7 person sectional for 10bucks at yard sale. all I did was had the cushions and pillows recovered and it looks as good as new!!!! only paid $57 to get them recovered. $67 sectional that my aunt offered me 250 for when we were moving.

    Very awsome find LD

I refuse to divulge all the trash/treasures that I no longer have that I either got tired of and disposed of myself, or Mother threw away when I was a sprout.

Then as I got to be an "adult," the now classic cars I got tired of and just traded away. (I even gave away a fully furnished beach house!)

Sigh. Too soon old, too late smart.

Goodwill is a hit and miss around here, most of the are Way over priced on the junk and when they have good stuff they underprice it but it does not seem to last long. One of my staff frequents the goodwill by her house and ran accross 6 really nice lithographs for $10.00 each, she sold 4 of them on e-bay for almost $1500. I've found a few things but nothing really worth mentioning at good will. I like the swap meets, where the storage auction buyers sell.
As for the toys, I'm 45 and my mom still usually buys me a toy for christmas.

    Good find Lucky
