So a ground package to a remote area can be delivered totally at the whim of Fed Ex?

my new toy is 30 miles away. and i have to call back monday & beg fed-x to bring it on out to the house. it seems it has been sitting there for a week.
they tell me that a tree fell across the road and the trucks can't get out of the parking lot. and the warehouse was flooded. and there is a line at the gas pump and ........

OK got that out of the way! i talked to Milt with Stealth , I'll say once again " this is a #1 seller in my book!. great units and fast shipping. " it's just a shame we can't get a shipper that took the care and pride in they're job.

    It's been hijacked!

I love it, a tree was blocking their way. Maybe someone should suggest a chain saw to them.

they did think of the chainsaw then they mailordered it and the fedex truck turned up to deliver it but he found there was a tree accross the entrance having spoken to the guy on the otherside of the tree he explained that he couldent deliver the saw as due to there strickt policys they wernt allowed to drop parcels at an enterance they had to deliver direct to the door

The Union chainsaw operator couldn't open the chainsaw shed because the union chainsaw shed opener couldn't get in to the compound to open it because of the tree!

Well, he probably thought the trees were on strike, and didn't want to cross the line. Sort of a sympathy strike, I guess.

Many trees have given their all for the sake of picket signs... or was that picket fences... I forget.

just saw in the Sunday paper that FedEx has job openings for temp drivers! apply in person. i'll go to work there and deliver 1 package ( to me!) , then quit. I'm 21 or over, clean driving record , not sure if I can drop kick 90 LBS out the back of a truck.
later guys got to go study for my drug test!

Now by being a union man myself, I can truely say that Fedex and UPS employees would NEVER drop Kick a pachislo machine. The Union would not allow such efford to be exerted by thier union brothers. The Union would tell the drivers to get the delivery van up to 30 MPH and then push said machine out the back. Same effect as drop kicking the machine with a lot less efford. This way everyone is happy, except the customer, but who cares about him!!

If the system was set up that you had to set the shipping amount aside in a third party and the only way for the shipper to get there money was to wait a required time after delivery with the person being able to inspect and confirm it was delivered in good order. Person would have to respond in time allotted, if not it would be no contest and shipper get there money. If there is damage then it would have to be settled. If they want there money they will work fast! If you falsely say there was damage and there was non then there would have to be some type of consequences for you. You don't have the money so drawing thing out does not help you and the shipper has to do a better job to get there money. Third party makes something off of having that money for the set time. Well enough of this nonsense! If only we lived in a perfect world!

Thumbs up Re: Stealth delivery exception

Guess what? My Speed Racer came today! I had just went back to the out-house to read the new Sears& Roebuck catalog and listen to Flatt & Scruggs on the wind up Victrola (y’all got to get the latest hit Foggy mountain break down). And dern if the Fed-x man didn’t come pullin up in his buggy! He said sorry he was late but his horse throwed a shoe and that mule of his is sooo slow!

OK so maybe I’m not that far out in the woods. But it still took a week for my new toy to go 30 miles.

The main thing it got here!

BIG thanks to Milt and Stealth !!! His scratch & dent machines are nicer than some of the (refurbished like NEW) ones I’ve seen. It even has analog volume controls on the speakers !! What more could you want?

    Thanks again
