    Default Portable Pachinko suggestions?

I'm going away on vacation and although the thought quickly crossed my mind to pack one of my pachislos, I was thinking that there must be aneasier way to get my fix.

Can anyone suggest which portable game system would be a good one to get to play Japanese version Pachinko and Pachislo emulations?

In doing brief online searching it seemed to me that Nintendo DS had Japanese games with no region blockout (i.e. the Japanese games would play on a N.A. system)?

    Any thoughts or experience here?

    Thanks!

I had some pachinko and pachislo games for the japanese famicom. nintendo snes system,

they were very hard to navigate because of the japanese text. it was hit and miss just to get to the games to play them.

and you don't want to play a japanese RPG game

There were a number of pachinko games released (and a few pachinko controllers) but the one I own personally is the Sankyo Pachinko Handle Controller for the Sega Saturn...

It's only compatible with the four Sankyo Fever-S games:

    Sankyo Fever-S Jikki Simulation
Sankyo Fever-S Jikki Simulation Vol. 1
Sankyo Fever-S Jikki Simulation Vol. 2
Sankyo Fever-S Jikki Simulation Vol. 3

Not bad at all if you can find one. Don't need to know any Japanese either really since they're fairly easy to stumble through and get to playing - they also work with the normal controller. I only have the first game "Sankyo Fever-S Jikki Simulation" and it contains (forgive my lack of better / accurate translation)...

    CR Fever Beach
    Akudamun SP
    CR Fever Big Bawafuru FX
    Missile 7-7-6D
    Fever NIN SP
Carrot Boy (I really like this machine, may need to search one out)

I also have Hissatsu Pachinko Collection for the Saturn which does a better job at creating parlor atmosphere but the pachinko controller isn't supported. Both were Japan only releases and there by will require either a hardmod via a switch or a US/JPN region removal cartridge to work on a non Japanese Saturn. Just the same they're not really portable - but are moreso than a machine.

If you have a Neo-Geo Pocket system there was a game called "Pachinko Hissyou Guide Pocket Parlor" that I heard was decent, it's kinda rare though and never had a stateside release (will play in a US system with no modification) and runs $40 - $60.

Sorry I can't give you the information you're looking for, pachinko games have been around since the pre 8-bit days but sadly they're not too common in North America and MANY of them are text heavy sim RPG's.

I'm kind of focused on the Nintendo DS (Lite when it's released), although there don't seem to be many pachinko titles, unless I'm looking in the wrong direction. There seem to be umpteen million Pachinko/pachislot titles for the PS2 (but how does one adapt it for Japanese region) - and it's not very portable.
