Anyone play online mmorpg games?

I have been out of the loop for awhile. I used to play Everquest all the time and had a bunch of friends on there as well as my older brother. I also played Anarchy Online but never really got into it. I have not played any online games for over 3 years now, but would like to get back into one. I'm undecided between Everquest 2 and Star Wars Galaxies. Starwars Galaxies is offering a free 10 day trial (no creditcard or bank account required, so you don't have to worry about getting billed if you don't continue to play). I'm going to download the trial tonight and take it for a spin...Anyhow just interested to see if any Pachitalk members play online games..

According to my brother, the Star Wars game has really gone down hill.

But the up coming Star Trek game looks pretty sweet!

back in its day it was one rocking online game..

ahh bbs's that brings back a nostalgic warm feeling. Plugging in the old 2400 baud modem (9600's were hot stuff if you could afford one) and dialing up the local bbs. From there finding a list of other bbs's in the area and dialing away. Anyone remember Delphi? It was more of a early online service in the Boston area.

2400 baud! And I thought the 300 baud one I bought for my Trash-80 (or was it the Osborne) was a screamer (and only set me back something like $400 at the time). I think I BBS'd through MCI just before Compuserve came along.

I ran a BBS in Vancouver for 4 years.. met a lot of fine people and had a great time. i wish i had kept a back up of it.

My original site opened up in 1985 "The Big Bang Burger Bar" running on a Commodore 64 and a Hayes (metal cased) 300/1200 baud modem. No hard drive but two floopy drives. C-Net was the software and it was very configurable if you didn't mind doing the programming yourself. All in basic.

I ran mine on a 286 started in 1991 until i moved to Greece in 1995
i used Remote access 2400 baud on the regular line.
sigh... T.G.C was mine.. short fot the Greek Connection.. had a mes sof thread coming in. Fidonet and a few others.. good times indeed....
