What got you started?

I just found out about Pachislos just a little over a week ago. I had bought a Vegas IGT Haywire slot machine for my GF for xmas and got really hooked on them and read all I could about slot machines. Im anal that way. Walking in a mall last week I saw a Pachislo ( Yamasa Red, King Pulsar) for the first time. I never heard of them on the internet or in the Vegas Slot Machine sites (Maybe I wasnt looking) I looked up Pachislo and learned as much as I could in a week and am now the happy owner of a King of King Pulsar and Neo Pharoah Zetz. Im hooked and have found all of these Pachislo sites on the net and even this great forum with people that have known about these machines for some time. I guess there is a huge following for everything. Where did you find out about them and how long have you been involved?

i saw my first ones at out local flea market less than 2 years ago, I still wasn't intrested until he let me play a few and I hit a bonus round on Gung Gung.
After that it was buy!!! buy!!! buy!!!!

Me.........I saw my first one at a Sam's Club a couple years ago. But had to research them before I bought one. My first one was Thunderbirds, which I purchased off of ebay. So....my research also led me to two things more fun than pachislo's. First is pachinko and second would be this forum.

I did a search for 50's decor to suit my gameroom, the search led me to a "TWIST" pachislo on ebay because of it's early rock-n-roll theme. I won that auction and received the item but it did not work. A further search led me to this forum and....with all the wonderful and knowledgeable people here, my "TWIST" is now in perfect working order...and so is Bettty Boop...and so is Hound Dog...

Walking in the mall and saw a machine, wow LCD etc. Went back and played alittle more. That machine got sold. Now they got one in with a Camel. Waited about 2 weeks before I could not resist. Impulse buy. Then I went online and found out about Pachislo machines and finally found the forum. The guy who sold it to me told me it was some chinese slot machine. The rest is history.

Lemme see...about 70 years ago back home in Galveston, gambling was legal and I fell in love with the old 3 reel mechanical slots. Started trying to get one when I was about 10...with no luck.

Fast forward to about 6 years ago. Got one, American that is,...then another. About the same time I saw an ad in the paper for a pachislo at a pawn shop. Went by and overpaid for a Wai Wai Pulsar, then a couple of years later I overpaid for a King Jack from the same pawn shop.

Started looking on eBay but never bought or bid. That is, until last year about this time I saw a King Camel from Stelth, and read an amazing review of it written by one lddrizzt and the mention of this site. Came here and found HOME! Even before I won that King Camel.

Since then I have bought 21 more pachislos and three pachinkos (all three pachinkos and 8 pachislos came from Arby!)

Someday, someday I will get a palot from Arby...I hope!

Well, for me it was when I went down to see Tony, and started playing the machines he has. I was hooked from the word go. As many of you here know, the Spin Luck is the machine I fell in love with and said I HAD to have. Last week Arby sent me a Tomcat pachislo and I fell in love with it!!! What a BLAST to play!!

Tony hounded me about checking this site out, and I still owe him a debt of thanks for that!!!

Walked by a display in Costco at Christmas time about 1 1/2 years ago. At $250-300, the price was a little above an impulse buy, so we thought about it for a few days then came back. Picked out Aladdin because it had english on the belly and looked better than the Juggler machines they had. Loved the heck out of it, but didn't like the blood trickling out my ears so I went looking for a way t reduce the volume. Found PC then moved over here with the gang.

I won a $3000 jackpot at a local casino and thought it would be cool to have my own slot machine and I'd take the winnings to buy one. I found out that in Oklahoma I could only own an antique 25 years or older. That didn't really appeal to me. I'd never been on ebay before, just heard about it. So I went on there looking for whatever I could find and found Pachislo's! I fell in love with my first machine from DGI as it was pristine. It was a great start to a fantastic hobby and a whole bunch of wonderful people I otherwise would not know!

When I was about 10, I started sneaking Dad's beer out of the fridge..........oh....you mean got started with Pachislos! I saw my first ones in Sam's Club, went back and bought JSR for my birthday.....been hooked ever since.....Gaku likes me

Found a Mr Magic in a garage that did not work and the price was for a ol tinker and I got it working and the rest is found the old site and the rest is history

One weekend my wife and I were bored out of our minds and decided to go to the local river boat casino for the first time, wife won a small amount, I broke even. I started going on a regular basis and decided it wasn't worth the loss of money to enjoy myself, the wife suggested I try to get a slot on ebay. Well, slots in Indiana is a no no. so for kicks I looked at a pachislo and I dunno who's auction it was but they had this link to pachitalk that looked all nice and fancy and I have been here ever since. I have more fun sittin at home playing pachis than i did at casino cause I know when I get tired of playing and go to bed, I still have the same amount of money in my pockett as I did when I first started playing for the nite. Well, thats if I stay away from ebay.....

My 1st one was a Christmas gift from my girl friend She got it at Sam's Club "baseball boy "she paid $225 and after that went on the net and e-bay now I have 8 slots

Sam's Club was my first Pachislo, too. Looks like they brought a lot of people into the hobby!

A co worker seen a hand made sign advertising slot machines for a 100.00. I stopped in. When talking to the person selling them he said they were from Japan. I had a vintage style pachinko as a kid and loved it. The 100.00 was a scam. Cheapest was for a 150.00 and I picked out an Azteca. I wanted to learn more about the machines and found the old PC site (see I said that nicely! ). Had the good fortune to become acquainted with a great bunch of people! Then jumped ship with them to come to Pachitalk. The day is not a good day until I am able to check in with pachitalk!
PS I will never buy another machine from that guy that sold me my first machine! He goes against ever thing we stand for here!

I bought my first machine ( Top Gun ) at Sam's Club in Phoenix over a year ago.
A year later I have over 10 machines.
Always looking for a new machine at a fair price.
Guess I got hooked....

I first learned of Pachinko/Pachislo machines when I was in the service and visited Japan many years ago. So when I finnally bought a house with a basement for a gameroom I started looking for the machines I'd had so much fun playing in my youth. Did some looking online bought my first machine from Milt, an Azteca Returns, and now I own 6 machines.

I bought a machine on Ebay, sold it after my wife said to get it out of my living room. Bought another....sold it when my wife said to get it out of the basement...bought another...sold it when my wife said to get it out of the garage...the rest is history!!!
