Default Sturdy, inexpensive homemade pachi stand

In an attempt to get the two pahcislots in front of the fireplace up off the floor we went to Lowe's, got 4 16x8x8 concrete blocks, (@ $1.75 each), a piece of 5/8" x 2' x 4' particle board that we had them cut to 16" x 4' (+/- $6), and a can of satin black spray paint (+/- $4). We spray painted the concrete blocks, put two sets of two blocks, one on top of the other from front to back, about 9" in from the ends (so that they're centered underneath each machine), painted the particle board with black semi-gloss paint and placed that on top of the blocks, and voila!! It easily supports the two machines and raises them 17" off the floor, which is a great height for playing while sitting on a dining room chair, etc. And it looks really nice, especially for only having cost less than $20. I'll post a photo later on.

That sounds cool. I went the ez way with the Walmart $19.98 TV cart option. Works great for me and has a storage shelf too.

Looks like Pachis are given proper respect and authority at your house If I had my way, I'd line the walls of every room with Pachis. AS it is I get about 6 or 7 in the house. The rest be in the garage. Thanks goodness I live in AZ where the garage is always warm and dry

Well, this got em up off the floor; it blends in nicely; it's sturdy; it was easy; and it's cheap. That adds up to a win in our book any day.

I do believe that is a mini-beverage dispenser machine.

    Didn't notice that at first.

Ummm... so where is your new and cool juke mp3 player?

You might want to stick the pictures over in the Gameroom pictures thread, Doug: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2327

Kewl; that was the whole point of my post. To me, any time a simple, cost effective, aesthetically pleasing idea can be devised and implemented, it's a win. And sharing wins is a major aspect of what sites like this are all about, IMO.

That spot in particular had been a real problem area, especially for Paula, who didn't like having to either sit on the floor, or be at a bad angle sitting in a chair playing those machines. We couldn't find any cabinets to fit that space because of the narrow slate 4' x 14" section directly in front of the fireplace. One day when I was at Ollie's I saw that they had their machines sitting on a combination of cinder blocks and metal mesh shelving. That's what got me thinking, and everything else developed from there. So when I saw that it did in fact end up working for what we needed, I posted so that it might help other people find an inexpensive solution to their slot placement challenges. Especially for those of us with a lot of machines, it's a lot sweeter to only have to pay less than $10 per machine for a sturdy, reliable stand. At least that's the way it strikes me.
