    Default Gun-owners

    Just curious how many of my fellow PachiTalk enthusiasts are gun owners. I have a decent collection myself:

    * WWI Webley Mark IV .455 modified to shoot .45
    * Beretta Cx4 9mm
    * Walther P22 with barrel extender
    * Remington 700 VS .308 Rifle
    * Winchester 1300 Defender .12-gauge shotgun (marine)

    I'm not a hunter, I just enjoy target shooting.

    I used to be into hunting, when i lived in Canada,
    mosty deer,

    at that time i had a 30/6 savage
    a .410 guage shotgun
    a 22 rifle
    and a 12 Guage, remington Pump action..

    Sadly the only one i could keep when i moved here to Greece.
    was the

    12 guage remington
    which sadly remains locked away in its case for the last 10 years because i havent had the chance to use it due to not having the time to take the course required to get a hunting license here in Greece.. ( Wild boar & mostly smaller game birds Wild pigeons , partriges and pheasant)

    a friend has been trying to get me to join with him at a local Handgun club but i havent been to up to it as of late... tooo much paper work and running around..

    Wow. These days a Mark VI in good condition can bring around $400. Blame it on the fact that it's what Indiana Jones used in his movies.

    Yup... nothing like Creaping through tthe woods with a big Blue Hat.. sneaking up on unsuspecting wildlife.....

    the sight of it usually stunned them long enough.............

    Anyone with a clean record can get a permit to carry for 35.00 in a few hours at the local gun shows.
    Florida also has the wild west law, the right to defend yourself if you feel threatened.
    But, It's a little hard to carry a concealed weapon when your wearing shorts and a t-shirt

    well here its not so much complicated as it is going thru all the paper work and dealing with the various ministries , law enforcemnt agencies etc.!!

    getting all the paper work together is a problem.
    the easy stuff.
    birth certificates, and
    need to apply for a search on your criminal record (takes 2 - 3 months)
    need to get checked out by a doctor to make sure you dont have any physical problems.
    need to visit a psychiatrist who makes sure you are "sane"
    then you take all the completed paper work to the police,
    they then issue you a license to purchase a gun. you then take this license to a gun shop where you pick out the weaponand pay the people(dotn get the Gun just yet).

    the gun shop then fills in some forms and send the serial number to the police who fill in more paper work cross reference everything.

    and finally after a month they issue you the permit to pick up the gun.

    you then take this finalized permit to the gun shop pick up your gun. and you are now permitted to own and target shoot.

    if i am not mistaken you are only allowed to own 1 pistol.. (unless you fit into a special category like law enforcement/ athelete.etc) or 2.

    I have a Remington 700 ADL, stainless with a graphite stock in 270 and a Winchester Model 70, stainless with a graphite stock in 30.06.

    270 for deer and the 06 for deer and elk.

    I currently do not own a gun. Gave it away when my first child was born and choose not to have any in the house as long as there are little ones around. but I guess no matter how many laws they pass criminals will still have them. I am all for gun rights but hopefully the person holding it is intelligent enough to use it safely

    Well, unfortunately the one thing you can't seem to legislate is intelligence. If we could, I have a feeling a lot of people would be doing very little.

    Motorcycles, Pachis and guns. I sure wish I could enjoy a hobby that didn`t cost so much. I have quite a few firearms. Had a Class III license until Pres Regan ruined things. Prices shot way up. I think in my next life I`m going to collect spoons.

    Three day waiting period and instant background check by phone here.

    It cost $5.00 for check everytime you buy.

    We even have a machine gun and silencer dealer in town

    No Sid... I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that without a Class 3 (Fulley Automatic Machine Gun) owners permit . Silencers, and "Fulley" automatic weapons are highly restricted in the U.S.

    I haven't hunted deer in a long time. Sold the Remington 870 with the wood stock when I moved once. Wish I didn't! I don't like the new cheaper 870s with the matte black and plastic stock. I mostly go squirrel hunting now with a pheasant stamp so if I flush one out I can take a shot. A 12 Gage single shot for the wife. A 12 gage automatic made by JC Higgins ( old Sears Brand) Don't use it anymore. Something is worn down inside and when you pull trigger it shoots off two shells one right after each other so fast you swear it only shot once but there are two shells on the ground. If you need something dead and don't plan on eating it this is the gun for you! The old standby Marlin 22 Auto. Then my gun I use for hunting, a Savage Model 24 over and under. 22 long rifle on top, 20 gage on bottom. Simmons scope rated for use with the shot gun. Black flat matte finish and the plastic composite stock. I originally wanted the old version of this gun. A little shorter, blued barrel, wood stock, and a lot lighter! But with my eyes I need to use a scope and the barrels were to thin to tap and mount the scope. The newer version is OK but heaver than I would like and the morons that designed it did a stupid job on the safety's!
