    Default repair advice please!

I have a Pulsar slot that I'm trying to have repaired. I live in the Chicago suburbs and can't seem to find anybody who works on these machines. Could anyone refer me to a repair tech please?

    Thanks in advance

depends on the problem ,but we can probably help you diagnose its condition as to whether its worth fixing is up to you ...... the parts shouldn't be hard to find for any of the pulsars theres plenty of them around ... but we need to know the problems the machine is having first .

Could be several different issues. Pulsar is a Yamasa machine. Yamasa machines don't like to be without power for too long or they give an error on start-up. Have you triied a full reset. There's more detailed instructions in other places here, but basically you
    1) turn the machine off.
    2) turn the reset key on.
    3) turn the machine on.
    4) hold down the reel start lever for 5 seconds.
    5) turn reset key to off.

After that report back and let use know how it went. the light is probably not related to the E0. probably just a bad bulb. You can get a new one at home depot.

(There is a place in Algonquin, IL that is called Rec Room. They have about 17 Pachislo's and 3 Vegas slots. The Vegas slots run about $2700, the Pachislo's from $299 to $489. Some have bandit arms and some are customize.

Any way the vendor is Mecca Enterprises, 847-451-9945 10350 Armatage in Melrose Park, IL

    AL )

I found this in a thread last year. I was there and they would fix machines. But I would try some of the fix's. from the threads here. Because it maybe too expensive have it repaired.

Yes my Yamasa (and all of my machines) give me errors when they arrive or after being unplugged for a long time. A reset fixes it usually. The other thing to do is to chek both the coin acceptor and the coin hopper, these are where most errors occur (either a coin can be stuck, or hopper empty or unplugged, etc). The go through an make sure all connectors inside the machine are connected and snug. wire harness connector pins can get corroded and lose contact, it can't hurt to unplug and re-plug the wire connectors to help clean the contacts.

Are you trying to put quarters in the machine????

If so, thats why they drop thru, you need .925 size tokens.

Good thought, except pachi tokes are .984

Quarters also wouldn't cause an E0 error or flashing belly lights

Forgetting the size, I thought Lucky's idea was a good one. An inexperienced person could be throwing quarters in and not realizing why they just go straight through not realizing that a different sized "coin" is needed.

I am oficially very impressed Chuck, I think there must be some kind of magnet or something on the coin deal which was not making contact before but is now & thru reset fixed the machine. The new bulb worked too!!!!!
    You the man!!!!!!

Thanks again, wish I found this site long ago.

If the machine is set to require a reset after a Bonus, then it shuts down the token chute (coins drop through), and sets of that nice two tone alarm to attract the attention of the pachi-attendants. Turning the door key to the left will reset that kind of an alarm.

Did anyone mention, though, what the E0 code stands for?

Remember that not all of the machines have a working minor reset. If you turn the key to the left and it does not help then you will have to reset to a full reset. There is a way to avoid having the machine need to reset at all after a bonus. You have to set the switches on the power supply to tell the machine it doesn't need to reset.

also remember these machines do not have battery retention for their computer settings (most just use a capacitive charge to retain settings for a short period of time since these machines aren't turned off for great periods of time in the parlors ) so prolonged durations of being unplugged could lead to an error code upon start up . but a full reset will usually take care of the problem.
