    Default Engraved pachinko balls

I've been having fun looking at the variety pf engraving on my pachinko balls. My favorite so far is one that says "I'll Be" on it. I don't know what that is supposed to mean, but it is silly enough to make me grin (ah, the simple pleasures).

    What are your favorites?

As an aside, I'm going to try and experiment to fill the engravings in with paint and then use my new polisher to polish the rest off. It should get them to stand out a lot more.

Surely a man with too much time on his hands! That's one of things about this hobby though, you're always looking at ways you can do things around it - building cabinets, setting up game rooms, spending hours filling in the engravings on tiny balls! It was the saddest day for me when I finally made a working, reliable set of tubes to get the balls from the back to the front (those Pringle tubes work a treat!). All those hours spent cursing trying to get it right were bliss!

I just spent a fair portion of the day modifying my Sakura to be cyclic. I haven't tested it yet, I'm waiting for some glue to dry.

A little pic about how pachinko balls are made (sorry, no translation)

Even though at times it might have been a pain in the ****, I bet you enjoyed it! Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I was hesitant to do it, as I wanted to keep my machine "as it was in the parlor." I just got tired of dumping balls back and forth.

The modification required cutting out some bits of plastic using a Dremel, and installing a 1/2" wide brass strip as a new track for the balls. I hope it works well!

When they are read right (Engraved pachinko balls) It says, "I am being held captive in a Pachinko Parlor, rescue me".

It's not a US thing. They are to identify particular Japanese parlors. Most of them are in Japanese. Maybe I'll post pictures of some of them.

They are so fun to play with in your pocket as you stand in line for your paper, pretty soon you are at the head of the line.

hmmm so if the parlors use them to identify each other why are we getting "authentic " pachinko balls without the authenticness

Some pachinko parlors use non engraved one. You can get them both ways. Like bald or hairless

All the balls I have are engraved. But the biggest problem of pre used balls shipped is the rust issue. I asked what stops people using balls from one parlour in another. Or as I have the odd 200 000 why can't I pop in and cash them in.
My supplier laughed at me and mentioned the obvious.....where would I hide 200 000 balls when I walk in!!
I had an image of the great escape and me shuffling round with balls dropping out my trousers.

Cheers Noobie, sorry I didn't mean that engaved balls were from the US, just that it seemed the ones we have in the UK aren't engraved (at least not in the same way) - different supplier and all that. Mine do have some patterns on, just not all different in the same batch, as yours seem to be.

I can see the attraction. It'd be good to have the odd few different ones to say hello to, from time to time.

I can't say that I've ever examined all my balls that closely to determine if they are all engraved or not. They probably are. Having around 12000 though, eh, I'm okay with whatever they are as long as they go through the machine.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.
