After many years of frustration with different cable companys I have recently closed my account and purchased several DTV converters and living free and clear from the Pay T.V. Nonsense. I do have a favorte story about my account with a cable company in So. Ca. a few years ago. I was living on the 2nd floor of a rental home and continually had problems with my cable bill being delivered to the lower unit. After many calls and office visits I never got the billing address resolved and thus never rec'd my current bill. The lower unit had a mail slot in the door and was vacant. The cable co. showed up one day to either collect or cut the cable. Of course their was an add'l fee for collection at my door. The next month with nothing resolved and no bill delivered to "MY Door" I went down to the cable co. office. I paid the curent bill due and then deducted a fee of my own for having to take the intiative to pay a bill at their office that they for months could never deliver to me! The lady in the office told me I couldn't do that and I reminded her "What good for the goose is good for the gander" They never tryed to retrieve that fee I imposed and got my mailing address right from that point on!
