That's how some of the most interesting collections of unusual items get their start. I once knew a gentleman who started collecting oil cans before people realized they would become collectable.

He had 100's of them! No squeeky hinges in his house!

I know what you mean! If id only saved that 'rockem sockem' or any # of the little toys I/we have all had in our too busy to think about lives...
